Diagnostic maneuvers for differentiation of supraventricular tachycardias
Park Kyoung-Min

Abstract
There are three primary mechanisms of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT). First, atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT; > 65%), second, atrioventricular reciprocating tachycardia (orthodromic AVRT=ORT; < 30%), and third, atrial tachycardia (AT; 5%). For the successful ablation of supraventricular arrhythmias, it is essential to differentiate between focal AT and the other types of reentrant supraventricular tachycardias (SVTs), namely AVNRT and ORT. Typically, ¨ç baseline findings, ¨è tachycardia characteristics, and ¨é ventricular and atrial pacing maneuvers during tachycardia are used for the purpose of reaching the differential diagnosis of supraventricular arrhythmias.
